Active Participation

Active Participation is a requirement under the timely progress guidelines during the initial 24-month period that a ticketholder who has assigned a ticket must follow the goals in the Individual Work Plan (IWP) or Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) that is signed with the State Vocational Rehabilitation agency or Employment Network (EN). To ensure active participation, ticket holders must:

• Choose an Employment Network or State Vocational Rehabilitation agency. Both you and your agency must sign a plan that outlines your employment goals.

• Follow the steps outlined in your plan, which typically involves seeking and participating in job training, completing an education program, meeting work or earnings benchmarks.

• Meet timely progress benchmarks, which ensure you maintain an “In Use” status of your ticket.

If you cannot make timely progress due to your health, you may request that your ticket be placed in “Inactive Status.”
